The Onchain Central Bank With No Boss
The Standard Reserve replaces bank charters with soulbound NFTs and puts monetary policy in 4,000 lines of immutable code.

The Standard Reserve is a protocol that wants to operate like a central bank — except it answers to no government, no board, and no team. Built on Robinhood Chain by developer 0xBeans, it runs its entire monetary policy through a single ETH/STANDARD pool on Uniswap v4, governed by a custom hook. [1][2]
The mechanic is deliberately minimal. Every epoch, the hook measures net ETH flow through that pool. Positive flow triggers expansion — issuance climbs and fees route to a vault that buys tokenized gold and deepens liquidity. Negative flow triggers contraction — issuance is cut immediately and fees flip to buybacks and burns. [1][2] STANDARD itself is capped at 1B tokens, with 100M locked permanently as protocol-owned liquidity and 900M held as an issuance budget. [1]
The NFT layer is where it gets structural. There are 1,000 Founding Charters — soulbound NFTs that license holders to earn a share of protocol issuance. Each charter opens with one branch and can grow to 10. Expansion licenses are paid in STANDARD and burned on the spot, meaning the most rational self-interested move — growing your bank — is also the protocol's largest supply sink. [1][2]
Exits are priced deliberately. Half of that fee burns; the other half is paid to bankers who stayed. [2] 100% of mint proceeds go toward initial liquidity and protocol vaults, with none going to the team. [1]
Whether the flywheel holds under real market pressure is the only question worth asking. The design is coherent in ways that many reserve-currency experiments have not been — but coherence on paper and resilience under selling are different things.
The Standard Reserve is one of the more architecturally considered attempts to encode monetary policy as contract law. [2] If the incentives survive contact with the market, it will be worth studying closely. If they don't, it joins a well-populated graveyard. [1]
